This website is operated by Mystery Books LK. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Mystery Books LK. We offer this website, including all information, tools, and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies, and notices stated here.

By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”).

 

SECTION 1 - NATURE OF SERVICE (THE "MYSTERY" ASPECT) Please read this carefully before purchasing. By purchasing a "Mystery Box" or "Blind Date with a Book" from us, you acknowledge and agree that:

  1. The product is a surprise. You will not know the title, author, or cover of the book until you receive and unbox it.

  2. No "Taste-Based" Returns: We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges solely because you did not enjoy the specific story, writing style, or genre of the book provided. The experience of the "mystery" is the core of the service.

  3. Duplicate Books: If you receive a book you already own, we will only offer an exchange if you had previously provided us with your Goodreads/StoryGraph link or a "Read List" in your Customer Profile before the order was processed. If no list was provided, the risk of duplicates lies with the customer.

SECTION 2 - ONLINE STORE TERMS By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your country of residence (Sri Lanka or otherwise). You may not use our products for any illegal or unauthorized purpose nor may you, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws).

SECTION 3 - GENERAL CONDITIONS We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. You understand that your content (not including credit card information), may be transferred unencrypted and involve (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices.

SECTION 4 - ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS AND TIMELINESS OF INFORMATION We are not responsible if information made available on this site is not accurate, complete, or current. The material on this site is provided for general information only. Any reliance on the material on this site is at your own risk. These products or services may have limited quantities and are subject to return or exchange only according to our Refund Policy. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors and images of our products. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any color will be accurate.

In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the e-mail and/or phone number provided at the time the order was made. You agree to promptly update your account and other information so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

Third-party links on this site may direct you to third-party websites that are not affiliated with us. SECTION 14 - GOVERNING LAW These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
